Title: Coal: A Tree-mendous Resource

Level: Primary, Intermediate, Middle School

Time: 1-2 Days
KERA Goals: 2.2, 2.31, 2.33:
Objective: Students will identify the many products manufactured using coal.
Materials:
1. Poster board/Oak tag
2. Crayons
3. Paints(Optional)
4. Construction Paper

Activity:
1. Students, working alone or in small groups, will determine which medium he/she/they will use to make a display depicting the various by-products of coal.
2. Students will then create their displays by making posters, a bulletin board, a mobile, a three-dimensional display, etc.
3. Students should be encouraged to share their creations with their classmates and with other classes.
